Meet Marc and Chelsea. These two love birds are so cute together and definitely know how to work it for the camera! I swear we were shooting models. Justin and I had so much fun hanging out with them and getting to hear their story. We can’t wait for their wedding in San Jose in just a few short weeks.
I seriously don’t even know where to begin with these two. Danielle is one of my BEST friends. Justin has known her for quite some time now and I met her when I moved to San Jose. We became friends instantly. We just clicked. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding, spent nights with me when Justin was gone, stayed up till the wee hours of the morning talking together, and went with me to “go look” at wedding dresses which turned into me buying one that day. This woman is incredible in every way and has the most beautiful heart of anyone I know.
A few summers ago she went to work at HUME Lake for the summer as a lead counselor (the same job my husband did there in 2008) and this is where she met Les. Les is one the the most patient, sweet, kind, and loving people you’ll meet. And the two of them together is just amazing. They are so perfect for each other in every way and I could not be more excited for them. My heart is happy seeing these two beautiful souls together and Justin and I are SO excited for their wedding this September. I could talk about their sweet, endearing love all day long, but instead I’ll just show you.

Justin and I got to fly up to San Jose last weekend to shoot lots of engagement sessions and hang out with family. This couple is really special to us. Justin used to work with Steven when we lived in San Jose and he was also our neighbor. We couldn’t be more excited for these two and I’ve never seen Steven so happy. He lights up when Sara is around. I just love it! We can’t wait for their backyard wedding in a few weeks!

Justin and I got to hang out with this darling couple last weekend in Oxford, MS to shoot their engagement session. Jake and Carmen are both Yale grads, debaters, and work for Teach for America. And they also play Settlers of Catan, so obviously we got along quite well. We had so much fun driving around Oxford and getting to know this sweet couple. We hit up Rowan Oak (the home of William Faulkner), Ole Miss, and a cute little river outside of town. Justin and I are so excited for their wedding this September at Carmen’s aunt’s Spanish villa mansion in Oakland Hills.
For a good laugh, here are some random fun facts about Mississippi:
1. It is legal to drink and drive…AS LONG AS your alcoholic beverage is not in the original container it was purchased in. (weird, huh?)
2. Mississippi has one of, if not thee highest rate of DUI accidents because of the above statement
3. It is totally legal to drive around with people in the bed of your truck. Even seven of them if you’d like. We saw this firsthand.
4. It is legal to talk on your cell phone while driving
5. It is legal to text while driving
6. They just recently passed a law that you must wear a seat belt while driving. That’s right…driving. If you’re a passenger, it’s not required.
*Don’t quote me on any of these. I did not look them up myself, but this is what we have heard from Mississippi folk*
For another good laugh, try and type Mississippi ten times fast. I can barely do it once without typing three too many “i”’s.

So many exciting things have been happening this month. Justin and I just bought our first home and we couldn’t be more excited. And 4 days later (today) we welcomed home a new member, Milo. You can see the full post on him [HERE]. I just wanted to give you guys a little peak into our new house. We’ll post more pictures soon once we get our things unpacked. I think the kitchen is my favorite part of our home, seeings how that’s where I spend most of my time. We feel so blessed to call this beautiful place ours and I’m so excited for all the memories (and food) to be made here.

I’ve waited 2 years, 1 month, 2 weeks and a day for this! Seriously. Justin promised me he would get me a dog when we got married. Well, since we got married we haven’t been allowed dogs where we’ve lived. The apartment we moved into when we got married was great and as soon as we got back from the honeymoon I went straight to the leasing office to find out what pet rent was and that’s when they informed me there were no pets allowed. “ARE YOU KIDDING ME?” I thought it had to have been a joke for how much we were paying to live there.
So, fast forward 2 years, 1 month, 1 week, and 4 days (basically 4 days ago) Justin and I moved into our first home. Like a home that we own. That’s ours. And I will paint that walls neon green if it tickles my fancy, you know why? Because no one can tell me I can’t. And no one is going to charge me to re-paint the walls back to boring white when we move out. Not worry, our walls WILL NOT be painted neon green. Nonetheless we’re so excited. So now that we finally live in our home where we make the rules, we created rule #1. Buy a dog. So that just what we did.
Look what Justin brought home for me today! His name is Milo and he’s a whole 5 pounds and the greatest cuddler of all time. Is he not the cutest thing you’ve ever seen? Justin flew all the way out to New Jersey to get this little ball of fur. I spent countless hours looking for a puppy like him but I couldn’t find a breeder that was closer and had some available at the time. My dear friend Karen bought Milo’s sister just a few weeks ago and when I saw her puppy I was smitten. We have been texting each other about puppies for weeks now, we both speak the same love language…puppies. And the fact that we’re now puppy aunties basically sealed the deal for us. I could not be more in love with this cute little thing! He LOVES being close to us, cuddling, playing, and kissing our faces. When I picked up Justin from the airport today he handed Milo to me and he instantly cuddled up in my arms and starting licking me all over. My heart melted. I have probably squealed more times today that a 5 year old meeting all her favorite princesses at Disneyland. Since Justin had to work tonight, we all hopped in bed for family nap time. That lasted all of about two minutes before Milo wanted to play and jump around. So I took him downstairs to entertain him while hubby slept.
This dog doesn’t even have the slightest clue of how cute he is. I love his little apricot ears. If it weren’t for those, we’d never find him on our rug. HAHA!
