Back to San Diego

July 31, 2009

That’s right. I’m headed back to San Diego again. I’m shooting my good friend Livvy’s wedding. Boy am I excited for this one! I did her bridal pictures last week but I’m not posting them till after the wedding so no one gets a peak at her gorgeous dress. I’ll be back Sunday.

Danielle

July 28, 2009

Danielle has the most beautiful heart. She is so genuine. She is so sweet and she gets it from her mom for sure. The first time I actually spent time with her was when we did her shoot, and we totally hit it off. And like the next day, her mom, her, and I went and got lunch together. She has the sweetest family EVER! I definitely see myself spending A LOT more time with her. She has been so welcoming ever since I moved to San Jose. I just love her. I can’t wait to see where out friendship goes. Danielle…you are absolutely beautiful…inside and out.

Nik & Robin - Sneak Peek

July 24, 2009

Robin and I cheered together in high school. Her boyfriend Nik is leaving for boot camp next month so she wanted to get pictures taked with him before he leaves. Isn’t she the cutest? Oh, and Nik and I used to work together at Pat & Oscars back in the day…and I had no idea they knew each other. Small world huh? Here’s a few to enjoy in the meantime…

Beautiful does not even begin to describe their relationship. I’ve never seen such a cute couple. They were so fun and we laughed waaaay to much. I think my abs got a work out…no joke! Jimmy is being deployed in a week so Elisa wanted pictures with him in his uniform before he leaves for 6 months.

Jimmy & Elisa…you are both amazing. I wish you the best of luck and you’re both in my prayers. Oh, and Jimmy…you are one lucky man. You have the most beautiful wife!

Firetrucks & Dinosaurs

July 17, 2009

So I have this best friend. Her name is Bree. She is going to school in Vegas right now to be a nurse. She is amazing. We met at SIBS Camp. Both of our sisters had cancer, so Bree and I have a lot in common and have been best friends for just about forever now. I never get to see her because she lives so far away but we stay in touch a lot. It will always be like that. I guarantee it!

So I get this message on Facebook about a dream she had about me. I thought I’d post if for you to have a good laugh…here it goes:

KEARY! hopefully this will make you feel better!
1. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!
2. I just took a 2 hr nap and had a dream about you! It was kind of crazy, but funny at the same time…you came over some random house with me to take pictures of some random family that I was a part of??? And then the house next door caught on fire and the fire truck just drove by it and never came back. Then you started taking pictures of me (even though you were supposed to be taking pictures of this family) and you had me pose in a bush, and then told me I looked like a dinosaur. I worked it. Anyways, the family disappeared because apparently the husband didn’t tell the wife that it was family portrait day SO were decided just to go take pictures. So the next thing I know, you’re in your car waiting for me and apparently we’re leaving for like 4 days. I was about to get into the car and then I realized that i forgot to feed my cats! Well my uncle was supposed to do it, but instead he hid the food and just

poured cat litter all over the house so I had to clean it up. You were still in the car and you got really mad! But it was still light outside so we could take pictures…then I got a text a woke up.

Think all this studying is getting to me? I think so! Still, I kind of would have liked to see where that dream went.

MISS YOU!

Camp Reach for the Sky

July 17, 2009

So I’m packing my bags once again. I didn’t even finish packing from my trip to Seattle. I’m headed to San Diego tomorrow to shoot an engagements session, I have camp all week long, two shoots during the week after camp, and a wedding the following Saturday, and then straight to the airport to head home.

So many of you may not know what Camp Reach for the Sky is…well, my siblings and I work at Day Camp which is for all the cancer patients ages 4-8, as well as their siblings. It is my favorite week of the year. It’s so amazing to see kids that are sick and struggling manage to keep smiles on their faces and have such high spirits. My favotire thing is coming back each year and seeing how much the kids have grown, gotten stronger, how their hair has come back, and how they remember everything from the previous years. So many of the nurses at Children’s Hospital have told us that the kids constantly talk about camp…ALL YEAR LONG. Camp is such a blessing to me and I am so glad I am a part of a camp family that loves these kids so much. The week is all about them. So…I get to document the whole week, and then put together a slideshow to show the parents at the end of the week.

Why do I do camp? My sister Emily was diagnosed with cancer when she was 8 and fought it for two years. Emily went to be with the Lord in Heaven on August 24, 2003 (the day before my first day of high school). Our family misses her so much and life is not the same without her. We miss her smiling face and her laughter around the house. I miss sharing a room with her. I miss her curly brown hair. And I miss the notes she used to write me in her favorite purple pen. I miss everything about her.

My siblings and I all have been doing camp year after year because we have a connection with the campers that no one else has. God has used my situation to love and support other kids who have been where I was. Words just don’t explain the love I have for these kids.

I’ll update you on how the week is going. Pray that it’s not too hot. I’m so anxious to see all the campers.
